Family Friendly Activities at the Waterfront

School's out, which means caregivers will be looking to pack the days with fun-filled activities the whole family will love. For fun ways to stay cool all summer long, the Toronto Waterfront has endless options for family members of all ages!

From peddling to paddling - getting active on the waterfront

One of the best ways to explore the area is by taking advantage of the trails and biking from one end of the waterfront to the other, stopping along the way to explore seasonal art installations, events, gorgeous gardens and the famous candy-coloured Sugar Beach. No bike? No problem!  Wheel Excitement offers bike and e-bike rentals for the whole family. Plus, the specialty family bike rental accommodates up to two children, running from infant (with a child carrier seat) to youth. It’s fun for the whole family.

But if you want to spend time on the water (it is the waterfront, after all), head to the Harbourfront Canoe and Kayak Centre. With the scenic Toronto Islands only a few paddles away, you can rent a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddle board and explore the area on your own, take a lesson to improve your skills, or join one of their guided social excursions.

A luxurious dip on the Radisson Rooftop

When the temperature starts rising, don’t forget about the beautiful fifth-floor rooftop pool lounge at the Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown hotel. With day passes available, you can float the day away and enjoy some tasty poolside snacks while you’re there.

We all scream for ice cream.

After a day in the sun, a cold treat (or two) is definitely in order.

Ice Creamonology

Owned by a trained chef, this shop surprises guests with unconventional flavours like Southern Banana Pudding and Sea Salt with a Caramel Ribbon, Turkish Pistachio, and the most popular flavour of all, Black Sea Tea.

The Fix

If you love decadent toppings, The Fix is for you! From their Love is Love specialty scoop with Unicorn ice cream and rainbow sprinkles to Like a Sir, which serves up peanut butter soft serve topped with a chocolate moustache, there are no shortage of unique concoctions to get your fix!

 Touti Café

Home to handmade gelato and delicious dairy-free sorbets, Touti Café proudly offers over 150+ flavours, so there is sure to be a scoop to please every palate.
